About this site
Alexis' Girl Talk Radio was founded in Oct. 2004 by me, your host Alexis. It was inspired by Brynn Baker, a fellow student at Purdue University who thought that I should have my own radio show. It was originally at the home of Facebook.com but because of privacy and a lot of unnecessary confusion, it was pulled from the site by me. However, after sitting in the beauty shop over Chrismas break, I was compelled to bringing Girl Talk back from the dead. I hope you enjoy this site where we are able to do many more things and feel free to speak your mind. Welcome to Alexis' Girl Talk Radio!!

Greetings Ladies
This was a hot topic on the original girl talk, so I decided to bring it back. The topic was "Are you a jersey chaser" and it created a lot of heat. I decided to bring it back to the light because it's definitely something that needs to be re-addressed! By me coming from a (two) black schools to a prodominately white school, I am able to compare and contrast the differences a little bit more better than those who have never been to either or. I know when I went to a black school, the athletic departments were WACK! So the females were more acceptable to being a letter chaser. However, by me being at a white school, I am able to say that we're not just jersey chasers but that we are simply motivated by status. Why is that? No matter how hard we may try to deny it, we ARE motivated by status. You don't have to be in college to see that and make that generalization either. If you live in an urban setting, typically what kinds of guys get all the attention? The drug dealers, or someone who appears to have some type of status associated with them rather it be their cars, clothes, or electronical gaggets. It is unfortunate that we are motivated by status for the fact that we could be missing out on Mr. Right due to the fact that he could be a lame. Not only that... We're chasing a group of men who don't really want us! Although they may rant and rave about how they love black women, at the end of the day they will utter the thoughts of getting a white girl because "they are less assertive". So my question to you is, is it acceptable to be passive? Is it acceptable to be disrespected? Is it acceptable to be naive all for the sake of a number, fraternity symbols, and the possiblity of being the whore of a prominate athlete in the professional arena because that's exactly what we are. Now, I'm not saying you a gold digger...cuz you ain't messing with no broke niggaz.. BUT don't sit back and allow this man be disrespectful towards you, allow him to manipulate you, and live to tell about it by laughing at you. Do you even realize that often times, that IF these men are whores at your school that they are whores at other schools. What about their girlfriends that they supposed to love, honor, and charrish who are left back at home in the dark? It's definitely something to think about... I want to know if it's even worth the risk???
God is love... love ya much!!
